A pink diamond ring will be the star of an upcoming jewelry sale at Sotheby’s in Hong Kong, carrying a price estimate of up to HKD 168 million ($21.4 million).

The cushion-shaped, 10.05-carat, fancy-vivid-purplish-pink diamond, called The Pink Dawn, is from the Kao mine in Lesotho, Sotheby’s said last week. The jewel was manufactured from a 26-carat rough found in the fall of 2020. It will feature in an April 4 auction, named Magnificent Jewels: Part I, and will lead a series of sales to mark the 50th anniversary of the Hong Kong division.

Sotheby’s will also hold a special sale on April 5 called the 50th Anniversary Luxury Evening Auction, while Magnificent Jewels: Part II will take place online from March 30 to April 12.

Other top items from the sale:

The Algeiba Star is a necklace bearing a cushion-shaped, 133.04-carat, fancy-vivid-yellow, VS2-clarity diamond, surrounded by fancy-intense and fancy-yellow diamonds. It has a high estimate of HKD 70 million ($8.9 million).

These earrings are each set with a pear-shaped, fancy-pink, VVS1-clarity diamond, with one weighing 11.17 carats and the other weighing 10.85 carats. The set, which also contains marquise and pear-shaped accent diamonds, has an upper price of HKD 55 million ($7 million).

A ring bearing an oval-shaped, 5.49-carat, fancy-intense blue, internally flawless diamond will also go up for auction. It’s expected to bring in up to HKD 50 million ($6.4 million).

Sotheby’s will sell this diamond fringe necklace by Harry Winston with no reserve price. The piece, which contains nine suspended pear-shaped, D-color, internally flawless diamonds weighing from 2.04 to 14.93 carats, has a top estimate of HKD 50 million ($6.4 million)

A necklace with an octagonal step-cut, 80.26-carat Burmese sapphire suspended from a chain of diamonds has a high estimate of HKD 45 million ($5.7 million).

This pair of unmounted brilliant-cut, D-flawless diamonds weighing 21.14 carats and 20.17 carats will go on the block with a high price tag of HKD 40 million ($5.1 million).

Another unmounted diamond — a brilliant-cut, 38.88-carat D-flawless — will also go under the hammer. The type IIa stone has an upper estimate of HKD 40 million ($5.1 million).

The Emperor’s Treasure is a necklace comprising 43 intense-emerald-green jadeite beads, with a clasp decorated with rubies and diamonds. Sotheby’s expects it to bring in more than $5 million.
