The Jewellery, Gem & Technology (JGT) trade fair in Dubai saw a sharp rise in foot traffic, drawing new and returning buyers from 95 countries and regions.

The February 12 to 14 business-to-business event hosted nearly 350 suppliers from 25 countries and regions on an expanded show floor at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), the organizers, Informa Markets Jewellery and Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), said last week.

The fair attracted 5,093 unique visitors, a 20% increase from the prior year, the organizers said. These buyers made a total of 7,210 visits to the fair, also up 20% over 2022.

Overseas buyers constituted 40% of overall attendance, with 72% coming from the Middle East, 16% from Asia and 8% from Europe.

The show included the 2023 JWA Dubai Special Edition awards ceremony, as well as a presentation by Paola De Luca, creative director and founder of IEG think tank Trendvision, on The Jewellery Trendbook 2024+, the organization’s recently released guide to in-fashion designs

The third edition of JGT Dubai will take place from February 6 to 8, 2024, at the DWTC.
